The People’s Arts Collective is a community of artists seeking to animate and advance social, racial, economic, and environmental justice in New Haven through art-making and art-making-processes. We particularly encourage the creative agency of women, queer-identifying folks, people of color, and youth. We emphasize the collaborative, intergenerational, and site-specific.
Our work aims to celebrate and create connections between persons and/or groups in our community, and to address a perceived lack of such connections. We hope to move towards a more vibrant, critical, and engaged community that recognizes its responsibilities, entitlements, and interrelations.
El People’s Arts Collective es una comunidad de artistas que desea animar y promover la justicia social, racial, económica y ambiental en New Haven a través del arte y del proceso de hacer arte. Animamos en particular a las mujeres, a la gente queer, a la gente de color, y a los jóvenes. Ponemos enfásis en la colaboración, en ser intergeneracional y en hacer arte para un lugar especifico («site-specific art»).
